Me & My Guru

He is a world renowned astrologer, spiritual stalwart, mentor, guiding light for thousands of people, mantra sastra expert and remedial measure specialist of unimaginable standards. Inspite of his high profile clientele and success rate in astrological & parihara services, he always maintains a low profile considering what he does as the 'Work of God'. His real happiness lies in helping a common man come out of his problems. Yes, I'm talking about Shri K.B.Gopalakrishnan.

I first met him on May 26 2005. How can one be so accurate on the date of meeting? Don't feel so overwhelmed. That was the wedding day of my eldest brother and I met my Guru the very first time in the marriage hall. Members of my family knew him even before. I didn't know then that he would be my Guru later and would be the cause of many events in my life. I was a careless college going brat where every possible advise would reach me from all corners.

 

Those were the times when Gods and Gurus were the most boring of sorts to Shyam (Yeh that's me). Years passed by and I got into a job post my Engineering (Yes you heard it right. How could a South Indian Tambrahm Boy escape from Engineering?). Things were so cool until the company that I was part of got bankrupted, went into legal complications and the workers weren't paid any salary for months together. Everything had gone haywire. Even more pathetic that I got sick and hospitalized for 2 months. Future looked bleak and as usual the hospital took all the possible medical tests available on planet earth and eventually found out that no tests could diagnoise the reason for my hospitalization. There were many life threatening circumstances in past that I could never forget in my life and that also includes my hospital days. That's when my Guru stepped into my life. My elder brother who was a student of him then met me in the hospital and arranged for the discharge when the whole of the doctor community (Guess a few more tests had't been tried out) & parents were against that decision.

Somehow I was brought out of the hospital and through my brother I was advised by my Guru to move out of Chennai and travel to Bangalore for sometime. I packed the bags to Bangalore having no clue on where my life was heading towards. I stayed in my cousin Sundar's room in Bangalore for a month who was working form Wipro then. I spent my time helping him with his affairs, cooking food for him and came back to Chennai. I met my Guru on the day of Kanda Sashti, sometime in Nov 2009 and performed sarpa shanti pooja at Vengeeswarar temple, Vadapalani, Chennai. My first ritual in the purview of my Guru. From there on, slowly my Guru took over my life, helped me cross many barriers as a soul, as a personality etc. During my course of learning, there had been many scary days with my Guru. When he shouts at you for your lack of focus, misbehaviours, his meditative energy will literally shake you and whack the hell out of your tummy. Later when I look back I have always felt that Shyam had died long before multiple times in his Guru's presence and whatever he is today, is all a rebirth of a transformed soul. I have loads of respect & love for my Guru. But still, I can never be comfortable in his presence. It's scary.

When my life was at stake, the funniest part was, I was also in love with my girlfriend Prakriti, who is my wife now. Looking at my horoscope, my Guru told me that I must be having a girl friend and how could I ever dare to deny. I introduced her one fine morning.

​

Coming back to the story, after a few months of drilling lessons post kanda sashti ritual, I was advised by my Guru to take up SEO lessons and shape up a career out of it. I learnt SEO from my Guru's foremost student Ms. Jayashree who initiated the class on a Masi Magam (This was sometime in Feb 2010). She taught me so well that I got a job in a couple of months. I worked there for about 6 to 8 Months and then quit that job as I got an offer from another company with higher salary. Before joining this company, I got married to my girlfriend with the blessings and help of my Guru. And my journey continued with him for another 6 months during which he helped me with remedial measures and astrological consultations for child birth. My wife got conceived. Our family karma was so thick, where if I had to protect the mother and the growing foetus, I shouldn't live with my family as advised by my Guru. Where would else I go? Long story cut short, My Guru was so broadminded and compassionate enough to take care of me and my wife so well personally for about 4 to 5 months. (Unga mind voice enakku kekkudhu...."Paavam Yaruppa Andha Guru" apdinudhaana nenaikareenga).

And the story goes on and on and on, my Guru performed Seemandham for my wife at my mother's house. She gave birth to my beautiful little princess Roshna (Numerology support by?.. By now readers would definitely know), followed by punyavachan of the child, ayush homam of my girl, my first foreign visit to Kenya for performing rituals for my Guru's top client. This keeps going.

Very recently (2019) my Guru's team performed the Grahapravesham rituals of my new apartment. My Guru visited the house and blessed us on the occasion.

 

Aatma Suddhi, the Sanskrit Sloka Centre is the result of the association with my Guru all these years. I'm in the process of aligning my destiny with my soul calling. There is no end to this story and no clue on where am I heading towards and what's in store for me. I have tried to be as precise as possible to share the excerpts from my story.
